Orban OPTIMOD 8700i LT
FM Digital Audio Processor
OPTIMOD 8700i LT FM+HD Digital MPX + RDS/RBDS
OPTIMOD 8700i LT is the lightweight version of Orban's flagship
audio processor OPTIMOD 8700i.
It offers the same
versatile five and two-band audio processing for both analog FM and digital media
(DAB + / HD Radio / Streaming) as the 8700i.
Key Features
Quick configuration of the audio processor
This feature provides a wizard and systematic procedure for configuring the 8700i LT
Factory preset and control MINUS PLUS
The OPTIMOD 8700i LT comes with a variety of factory presets that you can use as a basis for creating your own distinctive sound. Orban is happy to help you find the perfect setup for your station.
Subharmonic Synthesizer
The subharmonic synthesizer creates energy one octave below program energy in the range of 50-90 Hz when this energy is not present at the input and when the music is detected. It adds punch and slam to older material while maintaining musicality.
"Multipath Mitigator" Correcting the left / right phase shift
The phase shift corrector maximizes both FM and digital radio processing paths for the quality of a mono mixdown or mixdown that might occur in a receiver or player device.
Control
The "True Peak" control is available for digital radio processing with an accuracy better than 0.5 dB. For typical program material, the accuracy is 0.2 dB.
ITU BS-412 Multiplex Power Supply Control
An improved BS-412 multiplex power controller provides a new user adjustable program adaptation algorithm to make operation smoother and thinner.
ITU-R BS.1770-4 Volume Control
Volume Control is available for digital radio and analog radio processing chains in countries that impose a BS.1770 volume limit on digital and/or analog radio transmissions.
Limiter / Composite Clipper
A composite limiter patented "Half-Cosine Interpolation" which provides excellent spectral protection of pilot tone and SCAs (including RDS). If you prefer the sound of conventional composite clipping, we also offer a deactivatable composite clipper with spectral protection for pilot tone and sub-carriers. The composite clipper guides the composite limiter, which acts as an overshoot compensator for the composite clipper when active.
Operating the SSB stereo encoder
Allows the stereo subchannel modulator of its stereo encoder to operate in a single sideband / vestigial compatible experimental mode. In SSB mode, the subchannel modulator acts as a pure SSB generator for L - R material in the frequency range from 150 Hz to 17 kHz and as a vestigial sideband generator below 150 Hz.
Low Delay DJ Monitor Output
The MX limiter, Multipath Mitigator and sub-harmonic synthesizer add a delay that makes it impractical for talents to monitor all processing facilities in headphones. A new dedicated headphone monitoring chain (with approximately 6 ms of delay) provides a full five-band FM processor that allows you to compose your favorite amount of "FM Clipper sound".
Digital MPX
The AES3 384/192 kHz composite digital output is compatible and interoperable with the 192 kHz standard implemented by several transmitter manufacturers.
10 MHz reference input
A 10 MHz reference input allows you to lock the stereo pilot tone frequency and composite digital output sampling frequency to a 10 MHz reference signal (such as GPS), facilitating single frequency network (SFN) and near single frequency network operation (N-SFN).
Safety bypass relay
The analog and AES3 digital inputs and outputs have safety bypass relays wired in case of hardware or power failure.
Dual power supplies The 8700i LT's dual power supplies with independent AC line inputs provide redundant operation for maximum uptime. Both power supplies are constantly monitored and an alarm is generated in the event of a failure.
RDS
Full integrated RDS / RBDS generator that supports static and dynamic RDS values.
Bypass test mode and tone generator
You can call up a test bypass mode locally, via remote control or automation to test the transmission system or to easily compare the original and processed sound. A built-in line-up sound generator makes it easy to set the level quickly and accurately.
SNMP support
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) allows you to monitor the status of your OPTIMOD and send alarm notifications via your OPTIMOD's Ethernet connection to your network.
Remote control or front panel operation
You can conveniently use and configure the 8700i LT via the supplied Windows PC software using your local network or the Internet. Alternatively, all features are also available via the front panel with its colorful display.
